This is one of the best prices for full hookups we've ever had. The park is well equipped, quiet and clean. Wi-Fi worked well. My only complaint was you can't do laundry after 5:15.
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, lots of shade, close to Columbia State Park, level site with plenty of room. Deer walked into the site next to us and 5 of them were on the volleyball court. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: Bathrooms were worn but clean. Only a couple of cable TV channels came in well, and a couple more with static.
I rated this higher because it's such a good value, especially as it includes admission to the Ghost Town (which was rather disappointing). It's just got the essentials: full or partial hookups on gravel/dirt sites, small trees and no landscaping. Bathrooms/showers were concrete, but clean and private. It was quiet except for the wind. The ranger said it's either hot or windy, but I think we got both.
Walking distance to cemetery and Virginia City. Some of the nicest restroom/shower facilities we've seen. Lots of amenities, though we didn't use them. Although full, they let us leave our motorhome a couple of hours past check-out so we could run the AC for our pets.
Beautiful park. Lots of room, great view, very quiet, clean, and you can't beat the price for a nice campsite with hookups. We decided at the last minute to stop here for the night, and fortunately they had a cancellation. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer to enjoy it.
This is a good option if you want a place to hookup for the night. The Good: -Great price. -Clean. -It was very quiet on a Tuesday night with no scheduled events. -Even though we showed up at 9 p.m. with no reservation, the friendly on-site caretaker quickly checked us in. -Level. The Bad: -Showers a lengthy walk from campsites. Only 1 woman's shower, with no lock on the door; very secluded and didn't feel safe. -Must climb over a low fence to hook up. Advice: -Don't bother with the information booth, which only gives daytime office numbers. Drive to the caretaker's house behind it. -Try to get a site toward the edge of the fairground (away from caretaker's house). Electricity is unreliable in the closer spots. -It's a gravel lot with no amenities - OK for overnight but not much to do or see unless you're attending an event.
